OUR ASPIRATIONS
Not only will the dam act as a reservoir of water during the long and dry winters, but it should inspire a lot of projects in this resourceful community.
An irrigation project downstream, will reduce the number of gardens upstream which cause siltation
In line with UN SDG 14, the dam will be home to over a dozen varieties of fish and other aquatic life.
As a water reservoir, Mangorongondo Dam should make it possible to introduce swimming lessons in cooperation with the local schools.
Livestock and the local dip tank will also benefit from the water reservoir
OUR MISSION
The initiative's purpose is to empower the Community and assist the Government in achieving its Vision 2030 goals by restoring and enhancing the Mangorongondo dam for the community's benefit and ensuring access to water for domestic use, irrigation, livestock, dip tank, fish farming, water sports and ecosystem sustainability.

A leader in the provision of appropriate agricultural engineering and related technical services to stakeholders in the agricultural sector
The Directorate of Agricultural Engineering has agreed in principle to team up with the Mangorongondo Dam Reconstruction Trust and provide technical expertise in rehabilitating the da.

As a custodian of development in the District, Vungu Rural District Council, through the local Councillor, has blessed the project and committed to assist with both human and capital resources.
Like never before, we are being asked to adapt our behaviour in unprecedented ways which require us to be better ancestors to our children.
Join us in this endeavour to rescucitate our dam and set ourselves up for the exciting times ahead. This is more than just a dam project. It is a people coming together for a great cause.
